Scenes from EL/WLA Marketing Seminar, London, February 8 – 10
Primary to the mission of EL is to provide world-class educational seminars to its members. The gaming industry has always been a changing environment. But like everything else, the rate of change and the complexity of the issues has exploded in recent years. The challenge to operate in an increasingly competitive market-place, to adapt to regulatory changes, and ensure the sustainable future for our stakeholders has never been more daunting. The good news is that we all have access to the skill-sets and tools we need to fulfill our mission.
Our colleagues all around Europe and the world are facing similar challenges. As a result, an incredibly powerful brain-trust resides within the Membership of the EL. And since we do not compete with one another, there is tremendous benefit to sharing the real-world experience and business intelligence that is driving success in the Lottery industry. The EL/WLA Marketing Seminar is the quintessential example of that. Every year, leaders of the community of European lotteries come together to focus on the keys to success, and empower each other to apply those in their own jobs and their own jurisdictions. This year, the topic was Big Data. The discussion was not about how and why Big Data is the wave of the future. It is about how your colleagues are converting data into real-world business intelligence that adds material value to your operation. Read about it in the Focus Theme section of EL Magazine (which is what you are reading right now). And see the photos and scenes below to get a glimpse of the inspired feeling that everyone who attended experienced – See you there next year!
