A new President & CEO for SELAE

In August 2018, Jesús Huerta Almendro was appointed President and CEO of Sociedad Estatal Loterías y Apuestas del Estado (SELAE). The Lottery is one of the most profitable businesses in the Spanish State. It is responsible for the management of state-controlled games of chance such as the Euromillions, the Bonoloto, the Gordo de la Primitiva, the Quiniela and, of course, the National Lottery. In 2017, it generated an annual turnover of almost 9 billion euros and redistributed 2.4 billion euros back to the State.

Jesús Huerta Almendro was born in Cadiz/Spain in 1965. He holds a Law degree, a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management and a diploma in People Development & Management.

Previously in his career, he has been the economic and general services director of the Hospital-University Puerto Real, managing director of the public company Hospital Alto Guadalquivir, and General Secretary of Andalusian Healthcare Public Services, with an annual budget of around 10 billion euros.

In 2012 he was appointed managing director of Andalusian Social Services and Dependence public company (The Agency‘s mission is to improve the social welfare of citizens and guaranteeing the care and protection of people in situations of dependency).

From 2013 to 2017, he was Director of Digital Policy for the Junta de Andalucía (government of the Autonomous Community of Andalusia). During the past year, he worked as General Director for the Budget in the same Junta.

En agosto de 2018, Jesús Huerta Almendro recibió el nombramiento como presidente y director ejecutivo de la Sociedad Estatal de Loterías y Apuestas del Estado (SELAE). Loterías es uno de los negocios más rentables en el estado español. Es responsable de la administración de los juegos controlados por el estado, como el Euromillones, la Bonoloto, el Gordo de la Primitiva, la Quiniela y, por supuesto, la Lotería Nacional. En 2017 generó unos ingresos anuales de casi 9000 millones de euros y redistribuyó 2400 millones de euros de vuelta al estado.

Im August 2018 wurde Jesús Huerta Almendro zum President und CEO der Sociedad Estatal Loterías y Apuestas del Estado (SELAE) ernannt. Die Lotterie ist eines der ertragreichsten Unternehmen Spaniens. Sie ist mit dem Management von Glücksspielen wie Euromillionen, Bonoloto, dem Gordo de la Primitiva, der Quiniela und natürlich der Nationalotterie betraut. 2017 generiert das Unternehmen einen Umsatz von fast 9 Milliarden Euro und spielte für den Staat 2,4 Milliarden Euro an Gewinn ein.
